Biblical history is prophecy. In this session, Eddie teaches on the time when Antiochus Epiphanes ruled over the Middle East. We see that he is a shadow picture of the future anti-messiah. During his rule over the Middle East, Antiochus wanted to “Hellenize” the entire known world so that all would be following Greek culture, law and world view. He set forth evil decrees: *people should NOT follow the Torah. *people should not offer burnt offerings or sacrifices in the Temple. *people should not keep the biblical Sabbath or the Biblical Festivals. *people should not circumcise their children. *people should eat unclean food including pig. The purpose of these decrees was to restrain the Jewish people from following the Torah. Whoever did NOT follow these decrees was SUBJECT TO DEATH. What is shocking is this: that these mandated evil decrees of Antiochus are the way in which traditional Christianity says that this is the way to express their faith in Yeshua the Messiah! HOW did the evil decrees from Antiochus Epiphanes, how did this creep into the Sunday church world of today? Listen in to find out more! Antiochus' decree that all people under his rule must adopt Greek culture is a prophecy of the end of days when the Beast system will require that all people on the earth follow the 'New World Order' (Revelation 13). A Jewish priest named Mattathias led a revolt, defeated the Greeks, and rededicated the Holy Temple in Jerusalem. Hanukkah is a celebration of a victory in a revolt against a Greek culture that wanted to mandate their ways upon the people of the God of Israel, and mandate that they DO NOT follow the Torah but instead adhere to the ways of the Greeks.
