What does Yeshua’s Melchizedek priesthood do for the believer? Hebrews 5, 6, and 7 highlights and emphasizes that Yeshua is our Melchizedek priest: Whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek. Hebrews 6:20 For those priests were made without an oath; but this with an oath by him that said unto him, The Lord sware and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek. Hebrews 7:21 So, what Yeshua’s Melchizedek priesthood do for the believer? Yeshua purged our sins. It is Yeshua’s shed blood that is the remission of our sins. We can see this in Romans 3:24-25: Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God. In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins. Colossians 1:14 It is the blood of Yeshua that makes reconciliation between God and man: Wherefore in all things it behooved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.
