HHMI ~ Marriage Covenant Agreement ~ Pt 6 ~ Walking in the Heart and the Ways of God

In this session, we will come to learn, know and understand the heart, the character and the ways of God of Israel. Then we are to seek to emulate, imitate and show to others the heart, the character, and the ways of the God of Israel by doing the mishpot (good deeds) and tzedekah (righteousness) to others. What are His ways? His Heart? His character? We begin with Jeremiah 9:23: Thus says the LORD: “Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, Let not the mighty man glory in his might, Nor let the rich man glory in his riches; But let him who glories glory in this, That he understands and knows Me, That I am the LORD, exercising lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness in the earth.For in these I delight,” says the LORD. This is the HEART of God. In this session, we will look at a list of the things that are an abomination to the God of Israel. These will be the charges that the prophets bring against the children of Israel in their breaking of the marriage covenant agreement. It’s all about how we treat one another, and loving your neighbor as yourself. In this session, we will look further at mishpatim that were given at Mt Sinai (Exodus 20 was the big picture, Exodus 21, 22, 23, 24 gives the details). These instructions were given to us so that we would have LIFE (CHAI) and so we would inherit the land of Israel. We are charged with learning, knowing and understanding the CHARACTER of the God of Israel, His heart and His ways and then, we are to seek to become LIKE HIM!
