HHMI - Melchizedek Priesthood ~ Pt 7 ~ Joseph, as a Melchizedek Priest, Redeems His Family
from Hebraic Heritage Radio Podcasts · host Eddie Chumney
Because Joseph was faithful in his office as Melchizedek priest, the Lord used him to redeem his entire family during the famine. Joseph suffered for righteousness sake and he was faithful in prison. When Joseph is later raised up by the hand of God to be Pharoah’s right hand, Joseph’s brothers come to Egypt to buy grain: And the sons of Israel came to buy corn among those that came: for the famine was in the land of Canaan. And Joseph was the governor over the land, and he it was that sold to all the people of the land: and Joseph's brethren came, and bowed down themselves before him with their faces to the earth. And Joseph saw his brethren, and he knew them, but made himself strange unto them, and spake roughly unto them; and he said unto them, Whence come ye? And they said, From the land of Canaan to buy food. And Joseph knew his brethren, but they knew not him. Genesis 42:5-8 Joseph is a prophetic shadow of Yeshua the Messiah in performing the work of redemption during His first coming on behalf of His people, Israel and the world. His brethren, the Jewish people, did not recognize Him for who He was, even as Joseph’s brothers did not recognize him. Joseph’s puts his brother to the test to see if there has been a change of heart and attitude. He want to see reconciliation and restoration come forth, and that happens with hearts of repentance.
