HHMI - Paul's Life and Letters ~ Pt 2 ~ On the Road to Damascus....
from Hebraic Heritage Radio Podcasts · host Eddie Chumney
In the book of Acts, Paul is being accused of not following the Torah and teaching others to not follow the Torah. Is this what he taught and believed? In this study we will examine this question in detail. Initially, Paul persecuted believers in Yeshua who he viewed as heretics of the Torah. In Acts 9:1-2 we see that Paul is involved with persecuting the believers in Yeshua: And Saul, yet breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went unto the high priest, And desired of him letters to Damascus to the synagogues, that if he found any of this way, whether they were men or women, he might bring them bound unto Jerusalem. Acts 9: 1-2 When Paul became a believer in Yeshua as Messiah through a supernatural experience on the road to Damascus (Acts 9). And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven. And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me? Acts 9:3-4 Yeshua gives Paul a calling to share Yeshua and His Torah to the non-Jewish world. However, before he could do so, Paul had to reexamine the Hebrew scriptures. In doing so, Paul discovered Yeshua in the Torah and realized that the proper way to follow Yeshua is to follow His Torah by His Holy Spirit. Paul became passionate for this cause.
