HHMI - Paul's Life and Letters ~ Pt 6 ~ Gifts of the Holy Spirit

We are given the indwelling Holy Spirit and we are given gifts of the Holy Spirit in order to help us to live a Torah-based lifestyle. What are these gifts of the Holy Spirit? (Ephesians 4:7-8). One of the gifts is righteousness as we are told in Romans 5:17: For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ. We are also given the gift of grace: Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned. But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Yeshua HaMashiach, has abounded unto many. Romans 5:12, 15 We are given the gift of faith: For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. Ephesians 2:8-9 Paul teaches us more about these spiritual gifts in 1 Corinthians 12: Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant. Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. 1 Corinthians 12:1,4 The outcome of focusing on following Yeshua’s Torah and meditating on the Word of God, this will change our behavior and our character. Our character will reflect the fruit of the Spirit.
