HHMI - Romans ~ Pt 9 ~ The Resurrected Bride Can Remarry Her Resurrected Bridegroom!
from Hebraic Heritage Radio Podcasts · host Eddie Chumney
Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God. Romans 7:4 Mainstream Christianity has misunderstood this verse to mean that we are not supposed to follow the Torah of Yeshua. We will take a look at this verse in its Hebraic context to see what Paul was really saying. Paul makes a comparison to marriage between a man and a woman, and explains that as long as the spouse is alive the marriage vow stands, but once a spouse dies, the other is permitted to remarry. He then connects this thought to Romans 7:4, and applies this thought to our relationship with Yeshua, which is likened to a marriage relationship. We are dead to the original marriage vows… which we broke. This happened at the giving of the Torah at Mt Sinai and the golden calf incident). We are reckoned to be dead to the consequences of the marriage vows that we broke at Mt Sinai. So, when we are identified to Yeshua in his DEATH, we are then permitted to REMARRY as a repentant and resurrected bride who marries her resurrected bridegroom!
