What is a salt covenant? What are things in the bible that are associated with salt and a salt covenant? We will see in this teaching that salt represents life. We see that life is associated with both salt and light in Matthew 5:13-14: You are the salt of the earth: but if the salt has lost his savor, wherewith shall it be salted? It is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men. You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. We cannot lose our zeal for being Yeshua’s disciple as it is written: So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsakes not all that he has, he cannot be my disciple. Salt is good: but if the salt has lost his savor, wherewith shall it be seasoned? Luke 14:34-35 A salt covenant represents sharing of each others lives, and the giving of yourself to another. A salt covenant is eternal and everlasting. A salt covenant is mentioned three times in the bible. One of those occurrences is found in 2 Chronicles 13:5 where it is written: Ought you not to know that the LORD God of Israel gave the kingdom over Israel to David forever, even to him and to his sons by a covenant of salt?
