HHMI ~ The Themes of the Feast of Trumpets ~ Pt 2 ~ What is True Repentance?
from Hebraic Heritage Radio Podcasts · host Eddie Chumney
In this session, we continue our focus on repentance. What is true repentance? We will look at that in greater detail. The bible teaches us that there are three levels of sin: Transgression, sin, and iniquity. In this teaching, we will define those terms. It is the shedding of blood that atones for our sins. Yeshua died on the tree and shed his blood so that we could be forgiven of our sins. He made a new covenant with the house of Judah and the house of Israel: But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. Jeremiah 31:33 There are three steps to genuine repentance. They are: *confession of sin *godly sorrow and remorse for the sin *taking corrective action/change in behavior The season of teshuva (repentance) is associated with the blowing of the shofar to prepare our hearts and to warn us that the judgment day of the God of Israel is coming upon us and that we need to examine our lives and repent of our sins.
