HHMI ~ Two Houses and NT ~ Pt 10 ~ Parable of the Prodigal Son
from Hebraic Heritage Radio Podcasts · host Eddie Chumney
“And you shall say unto Pharaoh, Thus says the LORD, Israel is my son, even my firstborn.” Exodus 4:22 Is Ephraim my dear son? Is he a pleasant child? For since I spoke against him, I do earnestly remember him still: therefore my bowels are troubled for him; I will surely have mercy upon him, says the LORD. Jer. 31: 20 “And he said, A certain man had two sons…”Luke 15:11 At the deeper sod level, the two sons in the parable of the prodigal son represent the northern and the southern kingdom, Ephraim and Judah. Ephraim, the northern kingdom, has gone off into the world and squandered his inheritance. And not many days after the younger son gathered all together, and took his journey into a far country, and there wasted his substance with riotous living. Riotous living is a reference to harlotry. One of the primary missions of Yeshua in His first and His second coming is to gather and unite the 12 tribes of Israel. He is coming again to gather the scattered flock of two sheepfolds: Judah and Ephraim. This parable is prophetic in speaking to us about Northern kingdom and Southern kingdom and how they will eventually be reunited; it will be likened unto a joyous wedding! See this parable through this lens in a whole new way as Eddie unpacks this parable like you have never heard before!
