Hear, ye deaf; and look, ye blind, that ye may see. Who is blind, but my servant? or deaf, as my messenger that I sent? Who is blind as he that is perfect, and blind as the LORD'S servant? Seeing many things, but thou observest not; opening the ears, but he heareth not. But this is a people robbed and spoiled; they are all of them snared in holes, and they are hid in prison houses: they are for a prey, and none delivereth; for a spoil, and none saith, Restore. Who among you will give ear to this? Who will hearken and hear for the time to come?Who gave Jacob for a spoil, and Israel to the robbers? Did not the LORD, He against whom we have sinned? For they WOULD NOT walk in his ways, neither were they obedient unto his TORAH. Isaiah 42: 18-20 In this session we look at the account in Mark 8:22-26 of the healing of the blind man at Bethsaida. Yeshua literally healed this blind man. But at the sod level, at the deeper meaning of the text, we also see that the Northern Kingdom, the house of Israel is regarded as being “blind”. (Isaiah 42:18-20). What causes that blindness? For they WOULD NOT walk in his ways, neither were they obedient unto his TORAH. They had departed from the Torah and now they are walking in darkness, they are blind. In the regathering of the House of Israel who have been scattered the nations, they are associated with being blind and lame. When Yeshua healed the blind man, on the deeper level, He was making a declaration He is the Messiah and He would be healing the exiles of Israel by causing them to return from their exile to the land of Israel and in doing so, they will be following His Torah.
