For the LORD will have mercy on Jacob, and will yet choose Israel, and set them in their own land: and the strangers shall be joined with them, and they shall cleave to the house of Jacob. Isaiah 14:1 In this session Eddie will be looking the lame man who was at the pool of Bethesda. Yeshua literally healed the lame man at the pool of Bethesda. But we will also see, at the deeper sod level, that Yeshua is also teaching us about His role of the Messiah to gather and unite the 12 tribes of Israel. A Hebrew idiom for following the Torah is “walking in his ways.” Being lame then, is a picture of someone who does not follow the Torah. When the lame man is healed and is able to walk, at the deeper sod level, Yeshua was showing Him to follow the Torah. The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them. Matthew 11:3 The blind, the lame, the lepers, the deaf, the dead, and the poor, they are all statuses of the condition of the house of Israel. Yeshua is communicating that He is ministering to these people and is functioning in His role and purpose to gather and unite the 12 tribes of Israel.
