HHMI ~ Two Houses and NT ~ Pt 13 ~ The Blind, the Lame ,The Sabbath & The Day of the Lord

And immediately the man was made well, took up his bed, and walked. And that day was the Sabbath. John 5:9 Now it was a Sabbath when Jesus made the clay and opened his eyes. John 9:15 Why does Yeshua heal the lame man and the blind man on the Sabbath? At the deeper sod level, Yeshua was making a statement that when he heals a blind man or a lame man, he removing their blindness to the Torah. He is revealing to them that He is the Messiah and showing them that it is He who will gather and unite the exiles of Israel and return them to the land. This will happen during the time known as Jacob’s trouble or the “Day of the Lord”. How is the seventh day Sabbath associated with the Day of the Lord? Each day of creation represents one thousand years of time: For a thousand years in Your sight Are like yesterday when it is past, And like a watch in the night. Psalm 90:4 The ingathering of the exiles of Israel is associated with the Day of the Lord. The ingathering of the exiles is also associated with them returning to follow the Torah. The exiles of Israel are described as blind, deaf, and lame. During the ingathering, Yeshua will cause their eyes to be opened, their deaf ears to be unstopped, and their lame to leap as they learn to walk in the Torah: Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, And the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped. Then the lame shall leap like a deer, And the tongue of the dumb sing. And the ransomed of the LORD shall return, And come to Zion with singing, With everlasting joy on their heads. They shall obtain joy and gladness, And sorrow and sighing shall flee away.
