And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven: And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me? Acts 9: 3-4 In this teaching we will be looking at the conversion of Paul from Acts 9. We will see how it is a prophecy of the House of Judah (or Judaism) coming to Messiah, as Yeshua fulfills His role to gather and unite all 12 tribes of Israel. The mission and purpose of Yeshua was and is to gather and unite all 12 tribes of Israel. After his encounter with Yeshua on the road to Damascus, Paul becomes blind for three days. This literally happened to Paul but it is also a prophetic picture of rabbinic/orthodox Judaism. Yeshua said to the Pharisees, concerning their blindness: And Yeshua said, For judgment I am come into this world, that they which see not might see; and that they which see might be made blind. And some of the Pharisees which were with him heard these words, and said unto him, Are we blind also? John 9:39-40 So Paul becomes “blind” so that he can have his eyes opened to who the Messiah is. At the beginning of the third day that Paul receives his sight. This is a prophetic picture of the orthodox Jews, who have been blind to who Yeshua is as Messiah, that they will have their eyes opened at the beginning of the “third day”, which is the beginning of “Jacobs trouble.” Paul is prophetically foreshadowing the Jewish people recognizing that Yeshua is the Messiah. Paul has his sight restored to him on the third day. The nation of Israel will be healed on the “third day”.
