And after they had held their peace, James answered, saying, Men and brethren, hearken unto me: Simeon has declared how God at the first did visit the Gentiles, to take out of them a people for his name. And to this agree the words of the prophets; as it is written, After this I will return, and will build AGAIN the tabernacle of David, which is fallen down; and I will build again the ruins thereof, and I will set it up. Acts 15: 13-16 The restoration of the tent of David = the regathering and uniting of all 12 tribes of Israel= the uniting of Northern kingdom to Southern kingdom. With the coming in of non-Jews to faith in Messiah Yeshua and following His Torah by the Holy Spirit, this is part of the unfolding PROCESS of fulfillment of the Amos 9:11 prophecy that the fallen tent of David would be raised up and restored! The Jerusalem ruling was the instructions given to the non-Jews for what they can do to be received into the commonwealth of Israel! This demonstrates to the God of Israel that they are pursuing holiness in their lifestyle. Why was the Northern kingdom cut off? Because they committed sin in these four areas: They committed idolatry (Hosea 14:8, Hosea 4:17) They committed adultery, fornication, whoredom (Hosea 4:13) They ate unclean foods (Hosea 9:3) They committed blood sins (Hosea 4:1-2) The Jerusalem ruling then, if followed and applied by the new believers, REVERSES the CURSE that came upon the Northern kingdom and, as new believers follow these instructions, is part of the process of raising up the fallen tabernacle of David!
