HHMI ~ Yeshua From Gen to Rev ~ Pt 5 ~ Mt Sinai v/s Mt Zion

In this session, we are going to look at what is the difference between Mt Sinai and Mt Zion. When the children of Israel came out of Egypt, they were delivered and saved by grace through faith. By faith, they put the blood of the lamb on the doorposts and Yeshua delivered them out of Egypt. Then they came to Mt Sinai where Yeshua is going to offer them a marriage proposal (or a ketubah). Let’s summarize what we have learned so far: *The children of Israel were redeemed out of Egypt by grace through faith *At Mt Sinai, they were given the Torah. This was instruction on how to live their lives as a redeemed people. *The name of Yeshua’s covenant family is the house of Jacob. (Exodus 19:3) *The Torah and the covenant made at Mt Sinai was made with the house of Jacob, which includes all 12 tribes, not just to the Jews. *There is ONE Torah given for the physical descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob and also the non physical descendants (the strangers who were sojourning with them). We are instructed to see ourselves as those we were redeemed, saved and delivered out of Egypt. (1 Cor 10:1-6) Why? Because we are to see ourselves as part of a covenant community of people. We all start our journey in Egypt, in the world, in bondage to sin. Then, we encounter Yeshua, we trust and believe on Him, He gives us a new heart and we begin our spiritual journey, leaving Egypt behind us. What is the ultimate destination of our own journey? The promised land, specifically, Jerusalem, Mt Zion.
