Hidden Figures & Vocation --- 2017/04/05
from Faith & Family from KFUO Radio
Guests Dr. Gillian Bond, Director of Deaconess Studies at Concordia Seminary St. Louis, and Dr. Kathy Brandon, professor emeritus at Concordia University Chicago and Lutheran Teacher Education Coordinator and interim Director of Synodical Placement and Teacher Colloquy for CUC, join Andy Bates and co-host Sarah Gulseth to discuss vocation and the movie "Hidden Figures." Vocations in STEM fields (science, technology, engineering, and math) are often seen as "man’s work" and not appropriate for women. The women in "Hidden Figures" break that mold and work in the most dignified way to pave the way for women to follow in their footsteps.
