Hidden Rooms w/ Leolectro 04/06/26 - Voices Radio

If you’re ever lucky enough to have ventured into Killacutz record shop, you’ve probably bumped into Leo at one time or another. A walking encyclopedic knowledge of dance music. His love runs all the way back to early electro and hip-hop sounds, through to the modern productions he works on now - one recently featuring in Eris Drew’s DJ Kicks mix. But back then, it was the stabbing synth of Human Resource’s Dominator which had him hooked to dance music. Although he would DJ all over Europe, his favourite was fulfilling his dreams at legendary locations such as Amsterdam’s Roxy and becoming a resident at Utrecht’s Shiva. These experiences and his unyielding enthusiasm come through in the eclecticism and precision he brings to his sets. For over two hours, I stood behind Leo as he weaved his way effortlessly through a slew of breakbeat wonders. With multiple people climbing into the booth to get a welcoming hug, but almost always following up with a “What is THIS?”. It was amazing to witness (even if it was an impossibly tough act to follow), and it's an honour to have an hour of the set for this month’s show.
