Hieromartyr Aristion, Bishop of Alexandria: Faith and Courage in Cilicia

Today we remember Hieromartyr Aristion, the bishop of lesser Alexandria in Cilicia, who lived in the early second century. Born in a pagan family in Syria, Aristion was led to the Christian faith by a young martyr named Anthony and later became a devoted shepherd to his flock. Despite persecution, Aristion stood firm in his faith before the Roman authorities. He was sentenced to death by fire for refusing to worship pagan gods, and he faced his martyrdom with courage and prayer. His relics were carefully preserved by the faithful, honoring his witness to Christ.Support the show
