HIGH SCHOOL POWERLIFTING: Elkton-Lake Benton flexes muscles

BALTIC, S.D. — The Elkton-Lake Benton powerlifting squad participated in the South Dakota Powerlifting Association state meet on Saturday, March 7. The Elks finished sixth place out of more than 30 Class A teams, and four of the lifters earned medals. “Every individual on the team did really well,” ELB head coach Kaleb Haas said. “There were a lot of personal-bests in each of the three lifts.” As noted, powerlifting is not yet sanctioned by the South Dakota High School Activities Association — rather through a private entity.
