HIGH SCHOOL WRESTLING: New Ulm tops Marshall in 3AA final

FAIRMONT — Despite a late 10-point surge from Marshall’s Brayden Chandler and heavyweight Felix Kelsey, New Ulm qualified for the state Class AA tournament on Saturday, Feb. 14. This marks New Ulm’s first time qualifying for state in the team format since 1999, save for the Prince reference, bringing about a party atmosphere for the Eagles. Chandler bumped up to 215 pounds, pinning Tilken Fruwirth at 1:17. Kelsey recorded a 14-2 major decision over Emerson Johnson.
