HIGH SCHOOLS: Area practices underway Monday

Fall sports will begin Monday, Aug. 17, for Minnesota-based high schools.  In the case of Pipestone Area Schools, the activities are football, volleyball, boys and girls cross country and girls tennis.  “Summer flew by,” PAS head football coach Scott Boomgaarden said regarding the opening of training sessions next week. “We’re excited to get the season going, and seeing the kids every morning.” Next Monday’s practice will begin at 7 a.m. Players will be involved with training until either 11 a.m. or 1 p.m. Monday through Friday, Aug. 17-21, Boomgaarden said.  Practice time will include a weight training period.  Per updated...
