HIGH SPEED... BUS? Caltrans Floats Futuristic Plan for California Freeways

Caltrans is exploring a futuristic idea to run high-speed buses—capable of 80 to 140 mph—on dedicated freeway lanes across California. Is the state waiving the white flag on High Speed Rail? Will this add a lane or take one away from cars? Still in the early research phase, the plan would require major infrastructure upgrades, specialized vehicles, and new safety systems.
