High speed, likely fog contributed to I-15 accident that claimed life of Riverdale man

A 22-year-old Weber County man was killed early Thursday morning in a crash on Interstate 15 in Box Elder County that investigators believe occurred during dense fog conditions. According to Utah Highway Patrol, witnesses reported seeing a vehicle traveling southbound on I-15 at a high rate of speed with what appeared to be its headlights turned off. The crash occurred during the early morning hours, when visibility in parts of the corridor is often reduced by ground fog.
