Unsurprisingly, Democrats are attempting to leverage a shutdown—something they harshly condemned Republicans for doing in 2023. The truth? Both sides exploit shutdowns to their advantage, sowing division in the process. It’s best not to get bogged down in the politics of it and instead focus on pressuring the representatives who aren’t acting in the people’s best interests. Next up, something peculiar is unfolding at our nation’s universities and colleges. Columbia University has, for what feels like the thousandth time, erupted in advocacy protests—this time in support of Palestine—leading to the arrest of a certain Mahmoud Khalil. Meanwhile, demonstrators are showing up at Trump Tower, causing a ruckus. But that’s not all: Texas Tech’s underground tunnel system is reportedly ablaze, and not with just any fire—green flames.
