Highland League Weekly Ep 24 | Brora v Buckie Flashpoints, Referee Calls Debated & Dressing Room Chaos

On this week’s Highland League Weekly, brought to you by The Press and Journal, the panel break down a dramatic weekend across the Breedon Highland League. We analyse Brora Rangers’ 4–1 win over Buckie Thistle, with a detailed look at Shane Sutherland’s all-round performance and a first half that unravelled rapidly for Buckie despite a promising start. The discussion then turns to three major refereeing decisions at Dudgeon Park, including a controversial early red card, a debated handball denying a clear goalscoring opportunity, and the knock-on impact of yellow cards that changed the shape of the game. Elsewhere, there’s reaction to Huntly’s hard-earned victory over Deveronvale, as Vale’s difficult run of form continues, and analysis of Forres Mechanics v Banks o’ Dee, including another red card flashpoint and the impact of new loan signings. The episode finishes with a review of the Highland League Cup tie between Nairn County and Brechin City, a match played in challenging conditions - and memorable for off-pitch issues including changing room problems and a lack of basic facilities. Insight, debate and a few moments of Highland League chaos – all in Episode 24.
