Highlight Reels

There is a good saying:   Hikers on the Appalachian trail have this mantra “hike your own hike”—that is, resist the urge to compare how many miles you cover in a day to how far other hikers are traveling.  Today we are diving into the Highlight Reels.Last week, I caught myself grabbing my phone to do something quickly before calling it a day, and 30 minutes later, I found myself in a different state of mind than doing the message I wanted to send to someone.  I trapped myself in the Highlight Reels of Life.  Some of the reels were fun and inspirational; influencers are sharing, self-promotion, living an epic lifestyle, a pulled-together life, and a perfect picture of one’s life. As I thought about the 30 minutes that flew by, it made me think about so many things.  First, I fully admit I use reels; I share the content of all that I mentioned, depending on the day/week or what is happening in my life.   My mind was flooded with questions.   Listen now on how to move from the Highlight Reels to find real contentment.
