The Echo Sportscast #21 is a full package of North Bay sports with video highlights, interviews and discussion about athletic issues with co-hosts Paul McLean and Dave Dale.Top stories include the West Ferris Trojans senior boys basketball team's 20-point swing to defeat the Chippewa Ravens to claim second place in the standings behind first-place Algonquin. There's also highlights of the junior Trojans beating the Ravens to go undefeated 12-0 for the season. Ringler, who retired as a North Bay Fire and Emergency Services Captain in 2007, also played in the Gateway Fastball League and he shared the story of his family's connection with Gordie Howe.In post-secondary action, we have a bit of video from the Nipissing Lakers men’s team as they put a five-game losing skid on ice with an overtime win over the Waterloo Warriors on Saturday. Unfortunately, the women’s team didn’t fair so well on the road but it’s a new weekend of action, so we’ll put a positive spin on our report by pumping up the men’s hockey Military Appreciation Night at the Boart Longyear Memorial Gardens tonight at 7 p.m. with the Lakers hosting Windsor. They also play Saturday at 4 p.m. if you can make it. As for our Heritage Moment, Dale shared a bit about the Nipissing Warriors hockey history and cool story that illustrates how much the Warriors legacy meant in the 70s and 80s and continues to thrive throughout the Nipissing First Nation community.
