On April 5th, 2023, Candrick Begay and Anthony McCants—husbands and fathers who were employed at the Highway 64 Salvage Yard in Farmington, New Mexico—were murdered while at work. Celeste, Candrick's wife, was six months pregnant at the time her husband took the temporary job; it was the slow season in his professional field of iron work, and he wanted to be sure their daughter had a good birthday.
