Hilda Stewart - "Spreading Smiles - The Woman Behind Cheerful Heart Ministries

My wonderful guest today is Hilda Stewart, the founder and visionary of a very special organization here at the lake, Cheerful Hearts Ministry. Hilda found her calling to help women find their joy, purpose and peace by showing them how to develop a relationship with Christ. What started 16 years ago in her living room is now a full-time ministry, with a dedicated team, lots of volunteers and many success stories. They accomplish their mission by creating safe spaces for women to be comfortable, authentic and open, as they explore their faith and their personal relationship with God. Her path has been anything but easy. She had to battle debilitating health issues. She is the first to admit it would not have been possible without her relationship with God. She learned to listen to His voice and guidance and believes that, if we simply stop and listen, He will most certainly speak to all of us. Growing up in nearby Augusta, she had no idea what was ahead for her. She will tell us about her early career, working in special education with infants and preschoolers who were high risk for development issues. But after several years, her calling was persistent and she followed it to receive a Masters in Pastoral Ministry. Hilda will tell us how, after serving for several years in Church ministry, she made the transition into the special ministry she leads today. Cheerful Hearts Ministry offers several options for women to begin or continue their faith journey, from small groups to individual ministries to retreats.
