Hillariously Infertile: Karen Jeffries

from Culture Changers with Allison Hare · host Allison Hare

Today’s guest is Karen Jeffries, author of the smash hit book Hilariously Infertile: One Womans’ Inappropriate Quest to Help Women Laugh Through Infertility. This is a topic close to my heart. I did IVF to get my 4 year old daughter, Juliana and the truth is, when there’s medical intervention when trying to conceive, there is no straight line to baby. Nobody goes on Facebook and says “hey, I can’t get knocked up. Anybody know anyone?” There’s a lot of secrecy, shame, and really, isolation when you’re going through it. One day, Headline News came on and the segment was interviewing this schoolteacher, Karen Jeffries and how her book and Instagram account just grew like wildfire. I was furiously DM’ing her to see if she’d be open to an interview and luckily, well, here we are! Oh, and by the way, she is really funny!
