Because great news should be heard, and the link is right here in the show notes.Support the show ➡ Buy me a coffee Before we get to today's quote, here's a little background on the author. Hillel the Elder was one of the most influential Jewish sages of the first century BCE. Known for his wisdom, humility, compassion, and emphasis on ethical living, Hillel became one of the most important teachers in Jewish history. Many of his sayings were preserved in the ancient collection of Jewish teachings known as the Mishnah.Today's quote comes from Hillel the Elder, in a shortened version of his famous saying:"If not now, then when?"It's only four words. But they're a powerful challenge to procrastination. How many times have we told ourselves:I'll start tomorrow.I'll do it when I have more time.I'll do it when I'm ready.I'll do it when things settle down. But there's always another reason to wait. The problem with "someday" is that someday isn't guaranteed. The book you've been meaning to write?Start a page. The exercise routine you've been putting off?Take a walk. The person you've been meaning to call?Pick up the phone. The dream you've been thinking about for years?Take one small step. You don't have to accomplish everything today. You just have to stop waiting for the perfect moment to begin.Because sometimes the perfect moment isn't coming.Sometimes, the moment you have is the moment that matters. So here's the question: What have you been saying you'll do "someday" that you could start today?Remember, you don't need to know exactly how the journey will end. You just need the courage to take the first step.If not now, then when? That's going to do it for today. I'm Andrew McGivern signing off for now, but I'll be back... tomorrow!
