Hindsight: Hustle & Flow
from Melanin Media Collective Hosted by Derik Jones
Ahoy, Motherfuckers! This movie is a testament to the raw excellence of the music of the South. Every moment that works in this movie works around one of two things: Either the Southern style of hip-hop or the Southern artists in the film. DJay is a pimp who is truly bad at his job, and he employs three sex workers. Shug is dope. Lexus is hilarious. And Nola is a Karen. We are joined by Jay from the Frowntown podcast, and we discuss all of this plus the greatness of Shelby, the music of Al Kapone, Three-Six Mafia and Shug, and more. Enjoy. Follow us.
