HIPAA Case Dismissed: The Legal Victory of Whistleblower Dr. Eithan Haim

Can a doctor be sent to federal prison for exposing a hospital’s secrets? For surgeon Dr. Eithan Haim, that threat was very real - facing 10 years behind bars and a quarter-million-dollar fine for allegedly violating HIPAA. But in a stunning move that some say signals a “new sheriff in town,” the U.S. Justice Department has dismissed all charges against him with prejudice.
