from Metal Mayhem ROC: Your go to source for everything metal. · host Vernomatic Productions

Heavy Holiday Metal Heads!  They say it's better to give than to receive, so we're doing our part and handing out a dose of old school metal. We did some research and was able to locate Katon De Pena from legendary 80's thrash/metal band HIRAX for lesson in the history of thrash.  Jon "The Vernomatic" Verno is joined by MM Roc's Show Producer Mike Anthony for a deep dive into the history of HIRAX. Katon explains what it was like for heavier bands like Hirax, Metallica, Slayer and Dark Angel in glam metal infested LA in the early 80's and what led to the eventual migration to San Francisco.  Other topics covered include the history of Rampage Radio and the record vault and what really went down at Fender ballroom in Long Beach, California.  If you're unfamiliar with the band than you're in store for a lesson in the history of thrash, from one of the pioneer's of the movement. Katon shares insight on what Hirax is up to in 2020 and gives us his Mt.
