His Name Is Love

Knowing God is not the same as knowing about God. Know the person of God who loves you infinitely, who is good to you, who joined with you in death to bring you out and into LIFE with Him. We thought His agenda was to get all the sin out of our life. But really, He just wanted to be with you (He knows the sin will dissipate as you are with Him). He wanted a bride. "So that where I am, you can be also." Paul says, "I have espoused you to Christ." The Old Testament prophesy was that one day you will no longer call me Master, you will call me Husband. The servant doesn't know what the Master does. The whole revelation of the new covenant is that God is love. He wants you to get to know Him. He is not closed off to you. He is not hard to reach, in fact, He came to you. "Let's sit together and reason together." This is not a mental exercise. He is not Someone you are trying to get to do something for you. He just is and as you rest in Him, you realize you have all the Life you need in this moment. Getting to know Him will give you rest for your souls. If you struggle with getting to know Him, intimately and personally, let me introduce you: His name is Love. He is patient. He is kind. He isn't irritable or jealous, boastful or rude. He doesn't demand His own way. He keeps no record of being wronged. He is good to you. As you get to know Him, you will see His goodness towards you more and more. Support the show
