His Promise, Our Purpose

We’ve all read the Beatitudes. “Blessed are the poor in spirit…” “Blessed are those who mourn…” “Blessed are the meek…” “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness…” They are some of the most familiar words Jesus spoke during His time on earth. But familiarity can sometimes make us read Scripture without truly stopping to understand what Jesus was saying. What if we looked at the Beatitudes differently? Not simply as beautiful verses to read, but as a blueprint for how Jesus calls us to live.
