Já a norte, na Serra do Marão, esconde-se Zé do Telhado e a sua quadrilha, assaltante profissional de palacetes e viúvas, cujos feitos seriam contados por um dos maiores escritores portugueses. Para alguns, são criminosos violentos. Para outros, são figuras românticas que roubam aos ricos para dar aos pobres e repõem a justiça no meio do caos. Mas onde acaba a ideologia e começa o fanatismo? Serviam outro mestre que não a sua ambição pessoal? Seriam heróis ou vilões?
