José García Mora, better known as “El Cura Mora”, was one of the most influential people in the north of Extremadura during the second half of the 19th century and the early years of the 20th century. He did part of his studies in his hometown, Plasencia, where he studied Latin, Humanities and Philosophy, but it was in Valladolid and Salamanca where he obtained his doctorates in Sacred Theology and Canon Law.
