Historical Media: Urania (1920)
from Exposing the Holes: An Annual Pride Show · host Nermer Nermer Network
I am very pleased to share an issue of Urania (wiki link, published from 1919-1940), a feminist journal aimed at abolishing the gender binary. It is composed of poems, pieces of news, letters, and opinions about the importance (or non importance) of a person's assigned sex to their personalities and their lives. This week I am reading Issue No. 19, January-February 1920 (pdf). It includes "Morality of Draft" and "Pioneers in Suffrage Cause." All events mentioned are pulled directly from the QBurgh calendar. Please consider making a donation to SisTers PGH, a BLACK and TRANS-led nonprofit organization that serves the Transgender community of Southwestern Pennsylvania.Electronic donations can be sent to:PayPal.me/SisTersPGHCashApp: $isTersPGHVenmo: SisTers-PGHThis show is part of the Nermer Nermer Network, which has other audio shows listed at linktr.ee/nermernermer. There's a Feedback Form to send me your thoughts and memes, plus a link to our movie watching show The Ole Switcheroo! You can email me at [email protected]. I got the events mentioned at the end from the QBurgh calendar.
