History of the Paralympic movement

The Paralympic Games originate from a wheelchair competition organized in 1948 in England by Dr. Ludwig Guttmann for injured soldiers. This event, known as the Stoke Mandeville Games, Since 1960 the Paralympic Games are organized every 4 years and bring together athletes with disabilities from all countries in sporting events for the disabled.
