According to Parkinson's Law, work takes the time allotted. What constraints are you adding to your life so that you can work more efficiently? By adding artificial constraints to your work day, it forces you to have to get your work done in that time. However you have to fill that freed up time with something else, whether that be meditation, marathon training, or spending more time with your family. Ask yourself what you would do with your time if you worked half as much as you do now? Even if you never want to retire, imagine what you would do if you were retired. What would fill your time? Now think about what if you could do those things starting next month.
