Hocus Pocus (1993)

Looking for a Halloween classic filled with nostalgic fun that isn't too scary? Love the song "I Put a Spell on You" and want a Tony award winning legend to movie-musical-ify it? Wish more movies said the word "virgin" every five seconds? Then Hocus Pocus is the film for you! Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy star in this sheer delight of a film (directed by Kenny Ortega) as the Sanderson Sisters, a trio of witches who have one Halloween night only to "find the book, brew the potion, and suck the lives out of the children of Salem before sunrise...otherwise it's CURTAINS!". Host Sara Greenfield and her guest, Jaime Lyn Beatty chat about all this an more on this week's Halloween themed episode of Talk Classic To Me.
