Hokies to Dominate VMI in Season Opener | Virginia Tech Hokie Football News

Virginia Tech is poised to dominate in their 2026 season opener against VMI, with a staggering 51.5-point spread favoring the Hokies — the largest since 2017. Led by newly hired head coach James Franklin, who brought them to the College Football Playoff semifinals at Penn State, and quarterback Ethan Grunkemeyer, making his debut for Tech, the team is primed for a historic win. Projections even predict a 68-0 rout, fueled by Virginia Tech’s long-standing dominance over FCS foes and their return to the gridiron after a 42-year hiatus against VMI. Kickoff is set for Saturday, September 5th, at 7:30 PM ET on the ACC Network. Listen in comfort:Get a discount on a Soli Pillow: http://solipillow.com/discount/dnn.
