Holderman Out, Cecconi In as Guardians Adjust | Cleveland Guardians News

The Guardians’ playoff push just got a major hurdle as key reliever Colin Holderman goes on the injured list with wrist inflammation — a recurring issue that’s forced him to exit games before. With his reliability in the bullpen now sidelined, the team turns to Slade Cecconi, activated from the IL and ready to pitch in any role, while also recalling prospect Austin Peterson for length after recovering from a triceps strain. To make room, Carlos Hernández is DFA’d — giving the front office a week to move or release him. Every move underscores the Guardians’ urgency as they fight for postseason positioning.
