Holding Fast the Word

The sermon examines the qualifications for church leadership outlined in Titus, emphasizing that spiritual worth is determined by faithfulness rather than worldly success or popularity. It highlights the necessity of holding fast to the faithful word of God, warning against false teachers who subvert households for financial gain or to satisfy itching ears. The message urges believers to test all teachings against Scripture, rejecting traditions and extra-biblical claims that do not align with the Bible. Central to the discourse is the assurance of salvation through Jesus Christ alone, contrasting the narrow path of grace with the broad road of works. The tone is both convicting and pastoral, calling the congregation to remain grounded in sound doctrine and to trust in the finished work of Christ for their eternal security.
