Sam Levin and Mark Dwight give us a tour of the Rickshaw Bagworks factory and we get a bag made from scratch! Rickshaw Bagworks was founded by Mark Dwight, who used to work for Timbuk 2 Bags. Until now, I used a Tumbuk 2. No Longer. This bag is by far the best bag I've ever owned. First off, the looks: you can choose your design from the many fabrics they have in the factory or you can bring a piece of your own fabric in and they will make the bag for you out of that! (It needs to be upholstery fabric though, otherwise it wont' be durable enough for a quality bag) More important than the looks, the bags are lined with a waterproof rubber like material so if you spill beer or soda inside, just wipe it clean. Also, the bottom of the bag is also waterproof so if you spill beer on the floor and drunkenly sit your bag down in the spill, the bag is safe. The fabric on my bag is material used to make sails on sailboats so it is rain and beer resistant as well. Rickshaw bags are locally made in San Francisco, CA. If you are in the area, you can go right in the factory, pick out your fabric, go have a cup of coffee or a beer and come back in 20 minutes and your custom bag will be ready for you.
