He encounters a mother and daughter duo skeptical about the holidays and manages to warm their hearts and inspire them to get into the Christmas spirit. Maureen O'Hara, John Payne and Edmund Gwenn reprise their film roles in this popular Lux Radio Theater adaptation. There were 5 radio adaptations of this film; Three were recorded by Lux Radio Theatre (1947 with Natalie Wood as Susan the daughter also in the film, this 1948 recording without and also in 1954) and two recorded by Screen Director's Playhouse (1949 and 1950). Edmund Gwenn reprises his role in all 5 radio adaptations.
