The people lost their ability to discern between: • Holy and unholy • Sacred and common • Clean and uncleanThis spiritual decline began with leadership. Ezekiel 22:26 reveals that the priests failed to maintain distinction between what was holy and what was common. As a result, the nation became morally bankrupt and eventually went into Babylonian captivity.The sermon explained that “common” does not necessarily mean sinful. Common refers to what is ordinary or unconsecrated. However, the danger occurs when holy things are treated casually or reduced to the level of the ordinary.Pastor Sincere also taught that “unclean” refers to that which is spiritually defiled, while “clean” refers to what is accepted before God. The people of God are called to spiritual discernment, purity, and consecration.The message challenged believers to consider what should remain holy in their lives: • Their minds • Their time • Their bodies • Their worship • Their possessions • Their relationship with GodRomans 12:1–2 reminded the church to present their bodies as living sacrifices, holy and acceptable unto God, and not to be conformed to the patterns of this world.The sermon concluded with 1 Peter 2:9, reminding believers that they are: “A chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation…”Pastor Sincere encouraged the church to reclaim spiritual discernment, maintain reverence for holy things, and live as people who are truly set apart for God in a culture that increasingly treats everything as common.
