Today we remember the Holy Prophet Zachariah and the Righteous Elizabeth, the parents of Saint John the Baptist. Their faithful lives and the miraculous birth of their son are a powerful testament to God's plan and mercy. We also honor Martyr Athanasius, Abbot of Bretsk, who stood firm in his Orthodox faith despite persecution and gave his life for the truth.
